Here is the cover of the book and the ‘suggested family reading.’ Throughout the next 7 weeks we’ll be asking questions to the students and handing out prizes to those who get the correct answer. Once we’ve all read the book we’ll have a Family Game Night here at the school with food, prizes, and more! Please be reading with your child so they’ll have a chance to participate. This is also a time for your family to spend quality time together! LET THE READING BEGIN!!!
February Parent Quick Tips
Recognize Your Child’s Strengths
...and Motivate Success
This QuickTips brochure helps parents identify their children's talents and provides pointers on how to motivate their children by building their strengths into a foundation for school success.
We all know that different people have different strengths. And experts now believe that every child, in fact, may be "gifted" in some way. If we can identify and build on their talents, we can help motivate each student to succeed. Parents are in an even better position to know their child's unique strengths.
Give a Book, Take a Book
The Free Book Exchange at
Westside Elementary is still available
for the 2019-2020 school year!
Do you have children’s books sitting around collecting dust? They are in great condition, bur your child doesn’t read them anymore? We have a solution! WES has a , “Give a Book, Take a Book” cart located outside the WES library. The concept is simple. Your child can exchange one of their old books for someone else’s old book. Keep the book forever or read it and exchange it again for another book. All books should be in good, gently used condition and be appropriate for kids. Pre-K – 4th graders are encouraged to participate! Happy Reading! Contact Mrs. Staggs to donate books or if you have any questions.
